Machu Picchu
Perched on a hilltop high in the Andes mountains, the remarkably
well-preserved city of Machu Picchu has astounded outsiders since a Yale

world's attention in 1911. You can follow in his footsteps by hiking the
Inca Trail, or travel in luxury aboard Peru Rail's Hiram Bingham
train. However you get there, don't leave a trip to Machu Picchu out of

The Galapagos Islands
The Galapagos Islands, made famous by Charles Darwin's arrival in
1835, provide an unrivaled opportunity to see nature unspoiled by human
involvement. The animals here, many of which are not found anywhere
else, have not learned to fear humans, so they can be observed up-close
in their natural habitats. Sail around these incomparable volcanic
isles on a private tour, and see all that the Galapagos have to offer.

Bolivia
The Salar de Uyuni - Bolivia
The Salar de Uyuni (Uyuni Salt Flats) in Bolivia is one of the most
unique environments on earth. To an observer standing in the middle of
the salt flat, its lunar landscape seems to extend indefinitely in
every direction. Here you can stay in hotels made entirely of salt,
float in super-saturated salt water pools, and see wild flamingos and
other wildlife.

Lake Titicaca - Bolivia
Located on the border of Peru and Bolivia, Lake Titicaca is the
largest lake in South America and the highest navigable lake in the
world. Legend has it that the first Inca emperor, Manco Capac, was born
out of these waters. Here you can visit local people still practicing
their traditional lifestyle while living on floating islands made of
totora reed.
